Spaceage

The folks at Spaceage launched a new product called Visuals, that helps musicians control videos, images, cameras and audio on stage while they are performing live. It is marketed as helping artists create a “immersive, stadium-style performances on a garage-band budget”. So the branding was meant to reflect that with a lo-fi, retro garage band aesthetic. Since completing the branding, the product was renamed Visibox.

Inspiration

Bold, retro and lo-fi was the direction our client wanted to take this branding. The product was made for bands or solo artists that want to elevate their live performances with amazing visuals they can play on a screen that syncs with their set. For the branding we were inspired by old VHS covers and other graphic, abstract art that had a retro vibe to it. We wanted to make the brand stand out on its own for its bold visuals, but also celebrate the quintessential garage band experience with the lo-fi, retro treatments. With a heavy nod to the past, it was important to us that it still felt fresh.
